Snacktime

We provide milk or water and a selection of healthy snacks at no additional cost. Our snack time is a social time, which children access independently throughout the morning and under constant supervision of staff . This ensures their safety and promotes social interaction between the children. We encourage children to be independent by choosing and self serving their drink and food; and by tidying away their cups and bowls when finished.

Uniform

In order to feel free to explore and experiment with all kinds of resources, including messy play, we have a Riverside uniform. This can be bought at non-profit cost at the beginning or end of each session. We also have some good quality second-hand uniform. Whilst our uniform is non-compulsory, the children tell us they enjoy wearing it and we feel it gives them a sense of belonging.

Our uniform is also beneficial for children to practice skills which enable them to attend to their own needs and reduce dependence on adult assistance eg. elastic waist trousers make it easier for children to attend to their own toileting. We request that soft shoes such as plimsolls or lightweight trainers are worn at all times in the hall. Please clearly label all clothing with your child's name, particularly if wearing our uniform.
